The Southern and Eastern Africa Judicial Administrators’ Association (SEAJAA) is a body corporate for administrators in the judiciaries within Southern and Eastern Africa whose objective is to effectively and efficiently provide complementary services that promote timely administration of justice by judicial officers. The Association was created to inculcate the spirit of cooperation, mutual understanding, good governance and rule of law.
Currently, the leadership comprises Chairperson (Namibia), Vice Chairperson (Zimbabwe), Treasurer (Zambia), Secretary General (Malawi) and one only committee member (Mozambique)
Vision
The vision of the Southern and Eastern Africa Judicial Administrators Association (SEAJAA) is to foster a strong and efficient judicial administration system in Southern and Eastern Africa, ensuring access to justice, upholding the rule of law, and promoting judicial excellence.
Mission
The mission of the Southern and Eastern Africa Judicial Administrators Association is to serve as a collaborative platform for judicial administrators from Southern and Eastern African countries. SEAJAA aims to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, best practices, and experiences to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and fairness of judicial administration systems across the region. SEAJAA seeks to promote professionalism, transparency, and accountability within the judiciary and strengthen the capacity of judicial administrators through training and capacity-building initiatives.
Goals
To exchange best practices and foster co-operation among members on matters of common concern
To promote the rule of law, democracy and the independence of the Judiciary and its administration
To assist in strengthening institutions tasked with judicial administration in member countries
To publish a bulletin and to encourage members to contribute to it
To arrange platforms to discuss rule of law, constitutionalism, governance, human rights, and judicial processes
To co-operate with other bodies which have objectives similar to the objectives of the Association
Generally to promote the interests of judiciaries of member countries
